Barry Entner, a resident of Rhinebeck, New York, studied glass beginning at Tulane University, New Orleans, in 1977. While in Tulane, Barry enrolled in a glass sculpture class under sculptor, Gene Koss. After graduating in 1981, he apprenticed with artist, David Goldhagen at Goldhagen Studios, Hayesville, North Carolina. In 1984, he studied glass sculpture with Stephen E. Edwards, at Penland School of Crafts, Penland, North Carolina. In 1994, he studied Metal Sculpture at Massachusetts College of Art. From his studio, he creates free flowing contemporary glass sculptures by utilizing traditional techniques in conjunction with innovative designs. Each piece is developed individually to ensure its unique quality as it evolves within the series. Barry has participated in many selected exhibitions in Germany, Japan, Switzerland and the United States. Installations include those for King Hassan II in Morocco and for the Hale Koa Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii. |
